Sien Josephine Teijssen, CSA

Sien Josephine is a casting director based in Antwerp, Belgium.

Originally trained in law, she discovered her passion for casting in 2011 and never looked back. In 2015, she founded Sien Josephine Casting, quickly establishing herself as a trusted name in casting. She works closely with directors and producers to shape stories through casting, searching for talent—whether trained actors or first-time performers—who bring depth and truth to the screen.

Beyond casting, Sien is passionate about elevating the profession and creating greater industry access. She serves on the Board of CSA Global Chapter, the Advisory Board of the ICDA, and the Board of the Ostend Film Festival.

In 2024 she was nominated for a Casting Society Artios Award for her work on Julie Keeps Quiet.

Maarten Lens

Maarten Lens is a Journalism graduate from AP Hogeschool. He began his career as an intern-production assistant at VRT and Warner Bros. After gaining experience in management and sales, he transitioned into casting, initially working as a casting assistant at Sien Josephine Casting. However, Maarten has quickly evolved into casting award-winning commercials, and is now responsible for all commercial projects within Sien Josephine Casting.

Maarten is known for his eye for unique talent, focusing on finding individuals with distinctive characters and skills. His passion for uncovering real, standout talent defines his success in casting.

Lore Loyens

Lore Loyens earned her Master’s degree in Film Directing at KASK School of Arts, Ghent.

In 2023, she directed 'Subterranean,' Belgium's first AI-scripted film, which premiered at Film Fest Gent and garnered significant media attention. She also participated in panels and masterclasses discussing AI's impact on filmmaking. Her short film, 'Did It Hurt When You Fell from Heaven,' won the 'WeLoveCinema Young Talent Award' and her short film ‘Where the Black Sand Burns’ won the Short Film Competition at Filmfestival Oostende 2025.

After successfully completing her Mediarte internship, Lore joined the team part-time as a casting assistant, working on numerous projects for Sien Josephine Casting.

Cynthia Schenkels

YOUNG TALENT COACH & DIVERSITY ADVISOR

Cynthia holds a Bachelor's degree in Social and Cultural Work from Karel De Grote Hogeschool. Her career includes roles as a producer for theatre companies SINCOLLECTIEF, fABULEUS, and Caravan Production. In 2018, she joined "de nieuwe spelers," where she supported young actors from diverse backgrounds in their development.

With over 20 years of experience, Cynthia has a deep understanding of cultural sensitivity and diverse realities. While not involved in casting directly, she plays an advisory role, recognizing the strength and potential in individuals from all backgrounds. Her respect for (young) people's experiences, combined with her professionalism, ensures alignment with both the director’s vision and the production's needs.
